Read, Run, Ramble

I'm just a girl on a mission - a mission to read many books, run (walk) many miles and ramble about it all!

My main blog is on Tumblr, and I also have companion Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads pages.

Alone (Detective D. D. Warren Series #1)

Alone - Lisa Gardner This story had a decent plot - it was suspenseful with lots of twists and turns. One I definitely HAD to know the ending of and the characters were well developed/explained. However, there was a bit 'lost' with the narrator (I listened to the audiobook)...some of the characters actually lost depth/credibility due to the tone, voice, etc. used by the narrator. In addition, way too many adverbs...they're okay on occassion, but for the most part the writing should lead the reader to understanding what most the adverbs say...if I know a character is angry I don't need to reed that something was said "angrily" - adverbs are a crutch and were used way too often in this book.
