At first the point of view/voice of the novel is hard to get into, but once a reader has adjusted, it adds depth to the story. Todd Hewitt is the last boy in Prentisstown and that brings with it a whole host of issues that even Todd doesn't know about yet.Stories like this one make readers think - think of how easy group think and group mentality can take over and how when left unattended it can become quite dangerous. The main characters are likable and the reader feels the joy, hurt, and excitement as the two grow together and learn things about each other, themselves, the worlds they've each come from and the world to which they're headed.Though somewhat predictable at times, the novel does have its surprises and I'm looking forward to moving forward with the series.
