Read, Run, Ramble

I'm just a girl on a mission - a mission to read many books, run (walk) many miles and ramble about it all!

My main blog is on Tumblr, and I also have companion Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads pages.

Vigil Annie

Vigil Annie - Lia Fairchild Vigil Annie is a great thriller/mystery with twists and turns that keep the story intriguing and fun the whole way through. The protagonist’s name is a play on the word Vigilante and that is what gives the story its base – Annie is a believable character as well as one readers will enjoy reading about and getting to know. Her past, issues and persona are all relatable – you can be there; feel it; experience it because of the touch of realism. When I was first approached about reading the book, I was hesitant due to the subject matter. I've read one other novel that had a story line based in vigilantism and it was graphic and hard to read at times so I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but let me say that I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with Fairchild’s story throughout. Annie does try to exact justice in her own way and on her own time, but in a tame/just way – she’s not out “killing bad guys” for instance. The supporting characters are as well written as Annie and I enjoyed them. Readers will experience a powerful, evil protagonist, while also seeing Annie grow in relationships with family and friends. Again, there are some twists with love interests, good vs bad and motive that keep it all intriguing and I loved every bit.Bottom line: if you’re looking for a fun, intriguing read that will keep you guessing and make sure you don’t want to stop (I just HAD to know what the heck was going on), then try Vigil Annie. You’ll like Annie, you’ll enjoy her story and you will be surprised around many turns!*I was a beta reader for this book. I was given a copy by the author so I could I read it prior to its release in order to provide feedback to the author.
